最も強いVTuberを決めるゲーム大会『VTuber最協決定戦 ver.APEX LEGENDS Season5』が15日に行われ、全国5都市の映画館でパブリックビューイングが行われました。
VTuberの渋谷ハルさんが主催するFPSゲームの大会で、最大の特徴は出場者が全員VTuberであること。計60人が3人１組のチームとなり、20チームが優勝を目指して対戦します。
過去4大会は配信のみで行われてきましたが、今回は初めてパブリックビューイングが開催。都内の映画館ではチケットは完売し、約400人がスクリーンで観戦を楽しみました。
試合中、観客は固唾をのんで静かに展開を見守ります。そして試合が動くとスティックバルーンをたたいたりペンライトを振ったりして盛り上がり、思い思いに出場者を応援しました。Twitterのトレンドランキングでは#V最協S5が1位になるなど、ゲームファンを中心に注目されているこの大会。映画館のロビーではグッズの販売も行われ、多くのファンがグッズを買い求めていました。
大会の魅力について観客は、・みんなの歓声もあって観客側のボルテージも上がっていたので、心の底から『V最協』という大会を楽しめた（20代男性）

大会は『めーぷるなっつばにーだよ（胡桃のあさん、樋口楓さん、兎咲ミミさん、みこだよコーチ）』が準優勝チームとわずか2ポイント差の接戦を制して優勝。発表の瞬間は、会場でも歓声が上がるなど、この日一番の盛り上がりとなりました。
